Why We Refreshed Our Brand

As Martinez Community Foundation has grown, so has our commitment to representing this community, both in person and online. Early in 2026, our Board began a brand refresh process, starting with a foundational question:
- Who are we?
- Why do we exist?
- Who are we here to serve?
That thinking shaped everything that followed. The Board explored three creative directions: a place-based identity rooted in Martinez itself, a community and connection theme, and a growth and stewardship approach, before adopting the place-based identity as the foundation's new look.
The goal was simple: a brand that feels like Martinez, welcomes newcomers the way a strong "welcome mat" should, and gives our storytelling and community impact room to shine.
This refresh isn't just a new logo it's part of a broader website update meant to better connect donors, grant applicants, and neighbors with the work MCF makes possible throughout our community.
